What We Do – Services Provided

Black Cat Transport offers a range of freight services designed to meet the diverse needs of our customers:

General Freight

We transport palletised freight using well-maintained tautliner vehicles (14 and 22 pallet capacity) to ensure your goods arrive intact and on time, every time.

We work collaboratively with major Distribution centers across Victoria.

We also offer loading and unloading assistance when required.

As refrigerated transport specialists, we provide temperature-controlled logistics for perishable goods. This includes moving fresh products from key wholesale markets (such as the Melbourne Market in Epping) to retailers and wholesalers across metropolitan and regional areas.

With headquarters in Victoria, Black Cat Transport covers all of Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria and extends services throughout Australia, including New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, Canberra and Tasmania

Our History

Black Cat Transport began in 1980, founded by Bill and Esther Gibbs as Gibbo’s Black Cat Transport.

It started with just one truck and one driver—Gibbo himself—with a vision to deliver freight safely and reliably throughout Victoria and beyond.

Over time, the business expanded to a fleet of trucks, earning respect for its iconic vehicles and strong industry relationships with major partners such as Visy, Meadow Lea, and Omicron.

In 2000, the original business closed due to Bill’s health issues, and for many years the Black Cat name was absent from Australian roads.

Tragically, Bill passed away in 2012.

After a 20-year pause, Bill’s daughter Lauren and son-in-law Luke relaunched the business under the familiar Black Cat Transport name.

With Luke behind the wheel and Lauren managing operations, the company is once again active on Australia’s roads and highways—upholding the legacy her parents started and committed to quality service for all clients, no matter the job size or destination
